Now I have my new LG plasma and the cabinet with glass door that I was assured the remote for sky would work through with the door closed, I am looking for a solution. What I need is some kind of sensor that I can stick under the TV so the remote will work without having to open the cabinet. Its just the sky remote and i dont use it in any other rooms.

any ideas?

Normally you'd have it in line with the coax at the remote tv,,, but as you have an all singing / dancing fancy tv then I doubt you'll be using a coax connection, so straight into RF2 or via a short coax dependant on the connectors

The instructions for getting to the hidden menu to enable power on rf2 will be in the instructions,,, or easily found on interweb;)

There are 2 of these magic eye receivers - a standard one and a very low profile one for flat-screens that are very discrete.

IIRC it 'services' 4, 0, 1 'select'

Even vets can do it. :D

Looks quite straightforward. I wasnt going to bother with Sky as we done without it while in Blackpool. However they offered a new box and half price for 6 months. Apart from the fact that theres naff all on freeview!

We got rid of Sky over 2 years ago and have not missed it a bit. Freeview is getting more and more all the time (mostly repeats like Sky). Last Xmas i bought myself a HD freesat box which gave a different selection of channels and pluged into the Sky dish. I have also just discovered how to use torrents and pipe them directly into my Tv (thanks to my brother)

I had to threaten Sky with harassment charges to stop them bothering us with phone calls, texts, emails and letters every day.

If you have a need to control more than just the Sky box, or devices that don't use RF2 (e.g. Virgin) let me know and I'll elaborate
