Hi All,

I'm currently pricing a new build (Detached), which is to be timber framed upstairs.

I would like to use Dry lining boxes but am unsure as to whether I need to fit Fire/Acoustic rated boxes or not. Seems to be a bit of a grey area so would be glad of some black and white regs if anyone knows any.

Cheers

Nice One KME, Cheers

What it's basically saying is, If you cut a hole, you must ensure that you do all you can to re-instate it to it's original fire proofing.

Pretty much. Building regs, `specially E, go a bit further.....

If you use either the pre-fireproofed boxes, or that putty stuff, they should comply.

remember that this also applies to any holes between floors, where cables rise etc. "chimney effect" and all that jazz........

Will bear that in mind. It's gonna be a horrible job if I get it.

Block and beam floor seperating ground and first

Attic trusses & Scissor trusses upstairs

48 Downlighters and Cellotex everywhere, floor, ceiling, walls:_|

Have to discuss the use of downlighters in cellotex with the builder I think. I can see what wil happen otherwise, muggins here turns up to 2nd fix and no gaps left in cellotex for downlighters.
