hi guys my mate who has a pub told me he has a fault on his fire alarm panel i had a quick and noticed someone has unscrewed a sounder on the stairs.

what i would like to know is there anyway of linking the cables out until he finds the sounder many thanks

if its 'temporarily' bypassed, i can guarantee it will become permanent. get it fixed. its not that hard to get replacements. most wholesalers will have stuff like that in stock, or a local fire alarm co will have one

he has the brewrey engineer coming out monday so for now how do u get round it put the 2 reds and blues together on a connector

i dont do much with fire alarms, but at a guess, id yes, connect each colour together. there will probably be a EOL which is what the panel will be looking for

If the head is out normally connecting l1 and l2 will enable a bypass.

\this can be done with a temp link.

Or as you say linking both nuetrals and live will give the impresion there is no connection there so bypassing the sounder totally.

Make sure it is never left in this state as any problem and it is seriously fround apon.

Sorry a bit late on this one hope it has been replaced and tested.

Confused over the wiring colours Red and Blue 4 core is Brown Blue Grey Black.

must be old Firetuf Red, Black, Blue,Yellow,I would check out with a meter before connecting through as you could naf up the zone wiring and not the sounder circuit.

If in doubt strap it out does not always work.

Normaly red black one pair and yellow blue the other.

Not red Blue, Yellow Black
