Does anyone know of any flat roof mounting systems for PV, I have seen plastic tubs that you fill with sand and the lid is the panel, but I don't fancy loading 15 of those on the roof.

I have also seen these http://www.solar-pv-systems.com/pv-flat-roof-fixing-kit-8-x-1-p-468.html

But I would be limited with the height of these as they would shade the row behind. I was hoping for something that can accomodate 5 in a row portrait. As I can fit 3 rows on this roof. I am aware of planning permision.

You could have a custom frame made, the problem is the correct angle is always going to be restrictive.

The same friend that i've been doing some work for recently, has a PV system of around 20 modules on the flat roof of one of his completed projects in Larnaca. (2 large showroom outlets) Also has 2 large advertisement boards up there, the ones that automatically change between 3 or 4 advertisements. That brings in a very lucrative income for him...lol!!!

His System has been in for around 5 years now. The so-called experts that installed it for him, made a right mess of the cable installation connecting the modules to the inverter/controller so around 6 weeks after it was installed he had me replace the installed 10mm T&E for 10mm SWA cable, which i also re-routed, and protected where it passed across a walkway.

I'll ask if i can go up there and take some pictures, if anyone's interested.

As i remember, the modules are mounted on a custom made steel frame.... As far as i know, he's not very impressed with the income it generates, and wouldn't do it again...haha!!!

The complete system cost him around 25k, a good part of that was subsidised by the the Cypriot Government. Not sure what he gets back from the Leccy company a month, but i imagine the long hot summer days/months would be producing close to, if not it's maximum output....
