Hi helpers

I have just purchased a fluke 1653b tester. Having a play with it tonight ( the tester ha ha ) and I am having trouble with testing zs. I plug the 3 leads into the tester , plug the socket tester in and press test and get a reading of <2000 . I have not got a manual and I have googled the net and cannot find what I am doing wrong ? Have I got it set up wrong ? The setting it is on is zl no trip. Cheers

I`m willing to bet the reading is actually ">200"; not, as posted, "<200" ?

There are 4 possible reasons for this.

1. Broken meter

2. Broken test lead.

3. Testee error ( but sounds unlikely, tbh)

4. What do you think this might be??

I think you are trying to do a no trip test on L-N and the meter wont do it as it will only do a no trip on L-E,

but, Im fairly convinced thsat you need to verify your leads, try continuity test on them ,

if they prove OK double check you plug connections and your settings.

are you using a remote test button?

try using a normal lead and see what happens.

Cheers for all the help.i am thinking its the leads. Tried it again this morn on 2 other circuits and its coming back same results cheers
