Hi,

I was trained on a fluke 6500 pat tester & i was thinking about buying one, Is it best to stick with what you know or buy something cheaper ?

I would tend to consider the maximum product features you can get within your personal budget with a reputable brand make product are more important than previous familiarity with a particular product. All new products should have a user guide and not be too difficult to learn how to operate.

The Fluke 6500 is a good tester and reliable, It is a tough question you ask because it depends on a lot of factors,How much testing?

What type equipment? ETC.

If you ever want to give me a call my details can be found on our web site, the link is on the home page or at http://isswww.co.uk/

I like yourself did my training on the fluke so I purchased one when I got some pat testing work. It was alot of money and you have to weigh up if it will pay for itself because there isnt a massive amount of money in pat testing unless you land a big contract. It's a great tester but next time around I might look at something a bit smaller and portable.
