I've got a bunch of 4 x 4ft fluorescent ceiling fittings that need new ballasts. They are paired 2 x 36w T8 units each of which has 7 connections from the tubes; 4 wires in pairs to the far pair of tube ends, then one wire to each of the near ends of the tubes, the other connections at the near ends are commoned with a 7th wire that returns to the ballast. Easy, many are working.

Unfortunately I can only seem to get hold of *6* wire ballasts of the same ratings - can anyone help with what to do with that 7th wire in the fitting that has no matching mate on the new ballast diagrams?

Gratefully yours etc,

Like wot he said......

Just done 52 HF ballasts round a school......................a nice little earner.

As for the unused conductor I just terminate into a wago.
