Hi guys I have recently joined this forum and this is my first post. I have customer who can get no tv reception at all. They have a sky dish with an 8 way lnb, they have been told that they can connect free sat to this dish.my question is for 4 rooms do they need 4 separate cables or 1 cable running through a splitter to each room.

Thanks an advance.

Iain

Thanks for the prompt reply will get on with it asap.

Concur with Andy. I think you would only use a splitter if you didn't mind each room watching the same program simultaneously.

Cheers guys here's what I plan to do, I'm going to take 4feeds from LNB to the now defunct splitter/amp join cables from LNB to cables going to rooms using f connectors. I appreciate any comments.

TBH it might be easier to run twin satelite coax.. then you'd only need two runs instead of four..

If you do use single sat cable try and get some CT100 - foam filled not air gap std stuff... personally I only use CT100;)

You still have four cables even with shotgun coax (yes I am being a pedant)

Any room requiring a record channel setup would need a 2nd feed of course

Or if you did not want to run a second cable to any room you could use a Stacker/DeStacker but at

All sorted, customer wants me to run 4 cables and do the connections.they don't require recording facility and are going to start with 2 boxes and may be get more at a later date.thanks for all the input.

Iain.
