The pipestat goes in series with the frost stat fitted on the return pipe to switch off boiler when warm water is returning hence preventing pipework freezing but not over heating waiting for air temp to rise.
Thanks. I'd not heard of that idea before, but it makes sense.

You are never too old to learn.

This is what i was trying to say on previuos post.

Just checked in case honeywell had brought out a new frost stat but the normal t4360 frost stat definately does not need a neutral connection.

As for combis just wire between the terminals at the boiler where a normal thermostat would be. If a thermostat is already connected then put frost stat in parallel to this .

I have got a pdf link but not sure how to attach this from my phone but this is only what would be in the box.

Failing this apart from doing a you tube video or coming to do it for you then i cant think what else to say

So all I need to do in my scenario where is my sw live at the relay box the brown going to the boiler?

plus if there is an actual frost stat connection at the boiler cant I use this only  need a twin out of the boiler to frost stat and then pipe stat?making sure its a 230 volt

although that is the way it may be there is no propensity for it to be that way it may just as well work the other way with the pipe stat before the frost stat wired across pins a and g and you have to remember the link between 2 and c or it wont work

but i wouldnt do it like that anyway becos if someone changed the boiler later to a zv contact or a lv control it might blow up and someone might try to blame you for it so i would always put it through a relay after making sure i had a frost stat which was relay compatible otherwise the stat wont last very long

Fixed that syntax for you

To try and this thread in a positive way, honeywell do a full days installer training for £45.

Money well spent i think even if its geared towards their products.

R.B have a look on their website under" support " tab and then installer training.

Hang on a minute I said put sw live in with the boiler on brown and thats permenant live!so I put the sw live of the pipe stat on the stat wire switched basically and not the feed

Dave please dont commit suicide!

I can throw you a lifejacket and hard hat if needed to save the day!

All I need to know is where is the switched live is on a combi I dont get it I thought combis were permenant live I know how to do the plan stats Im stuck with the combi ones,The drawing shows the final part as a brown off the common terminal into the central heating valve what is this the brown going to the boiler in my flex my 5 core? or is it supposed to go on one of my stat wires these are boiler feed and boiler return arent they these are black and grey? Its not my fault I dont know this but I need to know it fast!

What just because I dont know how to wire a frost stat yes im a bit dodgy on heating and its not the end of the world its just the frost stats I think its the boiler return on the relay Il ask a spark I know it doesnt matter

Alright.

Constructive post for r.b

Either take up a different trade ( no offence, but you are so lost, a map, compass and GPS wouldn`t be much help....)

Failing that, if, for whatever reason, you intend to continue trying to be an electrical installer, look at the jobs you`re asked to do, and decline the ones that are beyond your knowledge and skills.

Yes, we ARE here to help people with things they`re stuck on; but, to be brutally honest, you don`t have a clue. "does this wire go here or there?" Is ZERO use to us - we haven`t seen it! This ought to be basic "noddy" stuff, for anyone who understands the basic first principles of electricity - sadly, through no fault of your own, this wasn`t taught to you - so my advice is to leave it to the guys who DO know what they`re doing. If you miswire a boiler, and blow a PCB, you will be held liable for the repairs.

Take this the way its intended - and take the "5 days to being a traffic warden" course or something. Electrickery ain`t your forte mate.
