if your using 1000's of litre per week, then fuel cards can be worth it. but for low use (like most of us), its not usually worth it - the rate you get now may be slightly cheaper, but it wont be in a month

there are hundreds of companies out there offering the same thing.

as a general rule, avoid them

there may be no penalty for low useage, but quite often, the price you pay them is more than if you paid for it cash / card when you bought it

also, they usually set fuel prices weekly, with another change mid week for any sudden increase. so if the price of fuel drops a few pence through the week, you still pay the higher. if it goes up more than a few pence, then they change the price and you pay the now higher price

only use for them really is if your using unmanned HGV pumps / red diesel, but there isnt many of those

wouldn't dream of putting red diesel in the van

.

The card they are suggesting is linked to Texaco and Morrisons, Texaco around here is dearer than the supermarkets. Drop a few pence off and the benefit would be not having to drive so far to get cheaper fuel. What I really must do is get van re-mapped for economy mode - improves fuel consumption, torque and power if done correctly, and then go check out the local bio-diesel bunch

I have a fuel genie card. It was advertised at morrisons. No discounts just 30days credit and I can use Tesco, Morrisons and sainsburys petrol, which are usually the cheapest anyway.

Thats what i was looking at.

Have had dealings with them, seems a very good idea and they were a lot cheaper during the diesel shortage as such. I was going to do it but the job that was using loads of diesel was coming to a end and I don't use half as much now the savings were not quite big enough for me. The system sounds good enough though.

They do bombard you a bit with phone calls though.
