fuse and mcb numbers

can anyone tell me where i can get a table of all the different en numbers for different types of fuses main switches mcbs rcds etc

i need to be a =ble to identify the numbers but there seem to be so many differnrt types to remember:Blushing

That is a good "current" list - there are also the "obsoletes":

BS4293 - RCD / ELCB / VOLEB

BS5419 - old type main switches

wondered what standard it was related to,

I was going to take a pic and post it up, looks identical to any other MCB.

Steps 60947-2 is the circuit breaker section of the switchgear standard 60947 (with 60947-3 being switch disconnetcors, dont know what the other sections are)

60947-2 *usually* refers to a moulded case circuit breaker, but I think this does not have to be the case, I recently came across some MCBs which complied to both 60898 and 60947-2 (but had a different breaking capacity for each standard!) was a wylex nsb from about 2003 I think!

it was marked IEC 947-2, not 60947-2

im sure some of our other members will have more information on this

Many of the IEC std references are missing the 60 as a prefix, this is the way it is.

I'd have to check but, IIRC all 2pole & 2 pole mcb's such as Merlin will be 60947, not 60898, or they will be dual marked.
