don't like Giv-energy, I have fitted a couple of Solax a few years ago and they are still working fine, plus the portal is good. Solax portal allows easy forced charging of the battery from the grid in the dead of winter. Batteries can discharge to the point whereby the sun may come out, but they slow charge because the discharge has dropped below 10%. This only happened during a long period of very overcast skies when the battery was standing idle and using what bit of charge there was, with little coming from the panels to meet household base load, or charge the battery. From the factory DoD had been set at 9%, which was too low, I reset it to 16% on the advice of the technical support team. I've not heard from the customer since so I am assuming all is well.
