I don't include it as a seperate cost to the customer,,,I just use it in my calculation of the total cost.. My customers do not get split material/labour costs, just the total cost of the job
I didn't think you would.

I usually try to give the customer the breakdown of the materials/labour cost though. Do you find they ever ask for it?

Maybe it's something I can revise for mine.

 
Remember Professional Services are exempt from CIS, I&T is classed specifically as a Professional Service by HMRC if you check out the CIS information.

 
It is a legitimate way of reducing your CIS charges, as, your charges for I&T will be a higher hourly rate as your "I&T person" has to be more "skilled" than your installer pulling cables in and hanging things on walls.

Please don't anyone take that the wrong way, you all know what I mean! ;)

Also remember filling in the forms/notification is Professional Fees too!

IIRC when I was asked to provide a UTR for some work we did there was some other info I dug up and I spoke to HMRC and got a reference no to exclude the I&T part.

Also remember that there are other qualifications for this mind, if you are already CIS registered then you have to fill in monthlies anyway even if you don't do CIS work?

So it may not be worth it?

 
I am;).. not as a main contractor though.... I don't do monthlies!

From what I know the main contractor has to do them either with the amount they pay you or a Zero amount if you didn't earn anything, they can also remove you from their roll of subcontractors so then they wouldn't have to enter anything... there is a
