Customer wants grid panel controlling: gas hob ignition; cooker hood; washing machine; dish-washer; refrigerator - what's best way of wiring this? I was thinking radial from CU in 4mm, with DP engraved switches and fuse modules at grid panel and flex outlets for appliances. The ring circuit for the kitchen is a seperate circuit. How would you all go about this in a domestic kitchen?

you could go with 4mm radial going to DP switches, with a fuse below in the grid for each item. but if they dont want all the fuses, then you may have to use 20A radials (max rating of DP switch), and fused spur outlets.

you could even use 4mm/32A radial to grid, and 4mm out to fused spurs. possibly 2.5 to spurs as long as fault protection can be met by the 32A

For the appliances you mention a 20A/2.5mm radial would be quite adequate (and the cable would be easier to terminate in the grid switches).

Instead of chopping the molded on plugs off the appliances, why not just use unswitched sockets in the adjacent cabinets. You can do away with the fuse modules then.
