petrol station owner nr me got jailed for taking the dye out and selling it through his pumps
kinda easy to remove the dye.... very hard to remove the other stuff thats been added

you could always dye the red another colour if you wanted (for identification purposes;) )

apparently its not as simple as using red for when off road and normal on road, if a vehicle ever uses red its never allowed on road.

Yea - Lurch is correct. Red diesel is ok on the road but there are specific conditions. In a tractor you are legal if going about agricultural activities but if you live on a remote farm and take the tractor out to the village to get some supplies you are illegal and should be on Derv!

A lot of young farmers commute around the countryside in the evenings on tractors as they can drive them @ 16 but all are breaking the law strictly. People have been done for it.

Must be a councillor living nearby 2 gritters go past each night spreading 1 behind the other, last Tuesday 10 mins later another gritter with a plough on the front.

Agree withh multi task vehicles for the council, but hey ho leave the firemen alone they are there the rest of the year, againpoor management and goverment intervention.

Wheres Prescott he was going to give us good transport and roads.

multipurpose vehicels are a good idea but when it takes 4 lorries instead of two to do your bin round as the adaptable vehicles can't cope with the demand put on them you will be moaning again as the multipurpose vehicle will cost more in the first place than a dustcart and as there are twice as many they cost another

what is it with all these specialized vehicles? when at resort level in other countries you dont see anything other than jcbs clearing the roads with their bucket, it doesnt damage the roads, yes it does leave a small amount of snow that gets compacted underneath the bucket but as soon as the sum hits it, it turns to slush and there is no problem.

i don't know about other areas but we lease our vehicles rather than buy them so probably wouldn't be able to get a multi purpose flat bed vehicle as they get normal ford/renault flat beds.

well thats another problem. councils used to own their vehicles. now they spend more leasing them (the lease company has to make profit some way)

not really, they lease them so an ongoing cost but they are the insurance approved repairer so get paid to repair their own vehicles, they get paid to service their own vehicles aswell as getting a new fleet every 5 five years so no vehicles get old and clapped out.
