Hi

Can anyone help me interpret the following video of my fire alarm panel and the various lights flashing etc on the panel. What is causing the fire alarm system error?

The alarm is the HAES systems surveyor envoy. The manual for the Fire alarm system can be downloaded online as I can't attach the pdf file for the manual.

My fire alarm video

Please watch the video.

Look forward to any replies I receive and thanks in advance.

By the way I will be hiring a professional to check out the fire alarm panel and system in due course but I want to get some information on the problem first before I engage a professional as then I can have some idea of the solution and costs.

regards

Higgs

Without looking at the manual it is showing there is a fault. That's about as much as you can ascertain without opening it up and testing it.

Its seems to be saying you have a sounder fault. I would disconnect all sounder circuits and place what ever they have End Of Line in the panel and see does that clear it. If it does, put the sounders back one circuit at a time until the fault returns.

would appear to be sounder faults on all 4 zones, which seems a little odd to have 4 go down at once. Think I would be looking at what controls the sounders as it seems to be a 'common' error to all 4 zones.

Is that not because I have muted the system panel? What are the sounders in the system? The smoke detectors? Or the one one system panel?

I can upload the manual if people need it to make an analysis.

You need to get someone to look at the system as it is faulty, as has been said. Are you trying to fix this yourself? Not a good idea if you have absolutely no idea what it does or how it works.

Hell no I'm not trying to fix it myself. I don't have a clue about fire alarm systems. I'm just trying to figure out what the problem could possibly be before I call an engineer. Unfortunately these days some people are ruthless and tell you there is something major wrong when it's a minor fix and they'll charge you for it. So to avoid these situations I'm trying to educate myself a little on the problems before I call someone in to fix it.

A couple of flats one above the other. I know in the flat above no one has been drilling holes or tinkering with sounders etc. The flat below I'm not sure. I'll have to check with them tomorrow.

Again, there's not much info to be gleaned from the indicators other than there is a sounder fault. Maybe if you post your location someone can advise further as to a reputable nearby member?

You are not going to get any clearer an answer than that unfortunately without someone physically looking at the system and testing it.

I would say looking at the video that the sounders have been disabled and not faulty. You can see in the video the disablement light is lit up . On this system you can’t disable individual circuits so the sounders disabled disables all sounder circuits

Thanks to everyone who replied to my original post. I hired a fire alarm system engineer and he figured out it was one of the sounders which was faulty. That particular sounder had burnt out due to a leak which had happened previously in the flat above. This event had created the fault which was being displayed on the board. One further thing was that the above event had locked the system into the fault state so it was showing sounder faults across the board. After consulting with another person who was very experienced with this particular system he was guided in how to reset the system. The faulty sounder was replaced and the system tested once reset. Everything works fine now. Thanks again to everyone. I love these forums!!

And thank you for coming back to us to update the final outcome. Its always nice to see a conclusion to a question.
