Hampster with a mankey eye

Patch The little M's have a question mate...

Their Hampster has a very sticky eye that has just happened over night...Any thoughts mate.

The first one that comes to mind is there is no 'p' in hamster!

Mild eye infections are quite common. How friendly is the hamster? If it's biddable then cleaning away any debris using some damp cotton wool for a day or two may clear it up. If it doesn't improve after the weekend then it will need some antibiotic eye ointment from your vet.

I assume it's well, otherwise?

The Hamster minus the P is fine & dandy apart from the eye......that has now been cleaned as instructed
