Hey Guys.

Whilst reading the forum I have seen a cuple of referrences to heat shrink sleeving in relation to crimping.

Just wondered what heat shrink sleeving was, and how you use it.

As whenever we crimp cables at work, we just crimp them and tape over them in the relevant cable colour.

Thanks

Craig

you buy it in lengths and cut off how much you need, slip it over the wire, crimp, then slide heat shrink over and heat up using heat gun or carefully with naked flame careful not to burn it lol. look alot neater than tape but does same job i suppose. hth

Heatshrink provides a good seal around crimped joints.

Available in many sizes and with varying shrink ratio.

It is placed over the join (prior to crimping), and heat applied via a hot air gun.

It is available form most wholesalers.
