Just remembered something else the guy was told by this expert. The current CU is mounted about 600mm from the floor in a meter cupboard and apparrently thats too low so new one has to be mounted half way up the wall.... I printed out part M and highlighted a few bits and told him to stick it under the sparks nose

Thanks Noz. He wants it done quick with minimum hassle. I said no cos It won't be as it would have to be done over days off etc. He has accepted the quote now but is armed with what the regs actually say now! I should have thought to ask if you were interested but thought it might be a bit far for you. Will keep you in mind next time bud...
