hello fellas!

question to you lot is....

ive been asked by a guy in my local wholesalers to modify some florys to accomodate led tubes instead of normal tubes....

according to the manufactures of these tubes is that they dont require a ballast or starter.....ive taken these out played about with them but i cant seem to get them on, ive tried bypassing it just using the the connections that the lamp fit into but no joy...anybody got any suggestions?

much appriciated guys!

Is there a driver or is it integrated in the LED tube?

ive done a load of research on these and have bought a few samples from china

basically 2 types DIP AND SMD

(smd is better/ more stable and brighter)

if you got ones with built in led driver you need to connect live at one end (on both pins) and neutral at the other (on both pins)

and as said remove all gearing from inside housing of fitting.

Also some led tubes require 24v dc and others 12v dc

if you require anymore help tommy just pm me ;)

When fixing the live and neutral to the pins make sure they are the right way around as I think they will only work one way, I know in a car you have to swap live and neutral to make them work

Chas

What is the light output from them compared to a normal fluorescent lamp as if you use a LED dichroic they say they the are only suitable for ambiant lighting not as a normal dichroic?

Well I think the name gives it away LED - Light Emitting Diode, what does a diode normally do only allows current to flow in one direction only.

depends on the size and wattage

but the lumen's output is slightly less ....

but light produced goes straight down onto the work surface. Not being bounced around via the louvre

cars are dc but mains is ac so shunt matter
