That is not, a conventional extension lead,
Well I honestly would rather spend £15 on that, even if it only lasts a year, then buy another one, as opposed to paying £500 for someone to come and rewire everyone and rip me off, it just isn't worth it.The instructions for the box you have pictured state explicitly "This Box provides a convenient housing for temporary outdoor use ONLY. Although it may be left installed for long periods of time, it is NOT intended to be permanent arrangement, and MUST NOT be part of a fixed wiring installation."
That is their get out clause for when things go wrong and to avoid getting sued.

It's diyers like you who put the services we use electricity and gas etc in dangerous way do as tony s quoted and be sensible running extension leads across gardens to sheds isn't the answer I'm afraidThat's too much effort, what I was planning on doing is just getting a couple of floodlights and plugging them into an extension lead that plugs into a socket in my house and then trails to the garage, but I'm not sure where I'd find a weatherproof 20 metre extension, even though they must exist
I bet they are old storage heater suppliesI'll show you the switches shortly, there's multiple, there's 1 in my room behind my bed with no use, there's one in another bedroom, there's one in the hallway when you walk in the front door and there's one in the lounge as well
Okay so what you're saying is they're selling a product which says it's for outdoor use but I can't use it outdoors or I'll get electrocuted? That's false advertising I can sue them for it.
Look at the post immediately above yours....I bet they are old storage heater supplies
