Looking at pic #2

I don`t think a bog standard 10A switch would:

a) Take the shower cable conductors in the first place.

B) still be in one piece; assuming the shower has been used since the "works" / "bodge" / "pile of doodley" was carried out.

That cable in the airing cupboard gets me! Who, in their right mind, would consider that in any way, shape or form, acceptable?

I`d like to see the consumer unit.

I`ll also echo what has been said previously, regarding standards of work.

If it does end up going to court, the use of an expert witness or two, would not only bolster your (already impressive) grounds; but may be advantageous in getting this person a lifetime ban from going near a tool again - how many other people have been fleeced by this (so called) builder.

Depending on what other works he has done, it may be wise to have a surveyor compile a report on the other aspects of his work, too!

Agreed... but if you really want to get shower wired through a light switch, there are a number of ways I could think of (although I won't here as I don't want to worry the O/P) - I found one of them in my first house in fact!

Maybe the cable was his idea of somewhere to hang your towel??
