Just introducing myself...

I was a long time lurker and newly registered member on the "other" UK electricians forum

I'm glad to have found this forum and this place looks a LOT friendlier and more usable and I recognise a lot of familiar names from the other site and always wondered what happened to them, and it seems there was some type of drama I missed

Thanks for having me (y)

Sorry that's a lame intro.. S0d off and try again!!!

Tell us more about yourself and your electrical background...
Or keen DIY background...
Or considering a Solar off-grid background....
Or just curious trying to help a family friend with an electrical problem background...
etc..
etc..
etc..

P.S.
The bar is on the third floor, up the lifts or stairs to the right of the reception desk...
But they get very busy at the weekend....

So if this IS a weekend some of what I say may be due to forum bar intoxications..
And not 100% accurate!

But Welcome & hello is correct!

Ok fair enough 🤣
I like your username, they even named a section after you in BS7671 :p

I'm originally from an I.T. background but went back to college to re-train as an electrician and do mostly commercial work as I love the variation of commercial work

My hobbies are computers & programming and anything and everything technical so am a bit of a tech nerd :alien:

See you @ the bar, get them in!!!

Oh YES... (y)

That is a much better introduction...
(The BS7671 Special Locations was named after my dad not me so I cannot claim any glory :ROFLMAO::sneaky::rolleyes::geek:)

Interesting background....

No problem with anyone being a nerd... Tech, Solar, EV's, Industrial, CCTV, Comms/Data.... etc.. etc...

AS long as we are all willing to share any relevant knowledge / experience we have acquired for any threads that we read...
without being rude, or offensive to anyone who has asked a question about something they don't understand..
Whilst being practical and constructive where potential electrical dangers may be present.

None of us on the forum want to offer guidance to anyone clearly our of their depth who could potentially injure themselves or others... e.g. Always keep in mind the fundamental principle of regulation 131.1 Protecting people property and livestock, when figuring out a solution to a problem posted!

I've bought you a couple of introductory drinks.. they are waiting at the bar....
If you can't find, them ask for Charlotte or Hannah, (in the low cut "Electrician Forum" logoed T-shirts!),
and they will soon point you in the right direction! 🍺🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻
