Good afternoon peeps,
I'm Dave and I have currently been made redundant due to governmental cuts. My job was working in the educational sector installing IT in to student labs and general hardware maintenance on Computers and Laserjet Printers.
Obviously these are stressful times for the family, however I see this as a perfect opportunity to change professions. I would like to become skilled and qualified as an electrician. I have the money set aside to fund my courses however I'm in the situation whereby becoming qualified does not make me an electrician. That will come with gaining many years experience.
The problem I have is that any job advertised requires you to be qualified and have at least a years experience, but of course, how can you get the experience without getting a job?
My question is, does anyone have good advise on how I could possibly become qualified and gain the experience I need to be a valued member of a team?
As I am 36, I don't appear to qualify for any governmental funding apprentership. That looks set for the 18 - 24 year old bracket.
Any advise would be warmly received.
Have a fantastic Christmas
Dave
