Hi everyone,
I'm unfamiliar with "talking" on-line & posting, so please forgive me whilst I learn on this forum.
I am from an electronic engineering background mostly radio telecom's, but I'm retired now. My hobbies include exploring old mines, restoration of vintage radio's & telephones, and more relevant to this forum the early development of electric distribution & installation. I am also interested in how early development continue to effect future designs in different regions/countries such as polarised domestic plugs in the UK & non-polarised in much of Europe.
As a DIY'er I have done several domestic rewires over the years in the UK, Italy, & Canada. I have the reg/code books for UK, North America, South Africa, Australia, NZ. Also wiring books (not reg/code) for other countries. Some of my books are rather old though, some dating back to the 1890's. If that's not sad enough I also have sample of electrical fitting from various counties obtained during holiday visits!
I have found this forum to be very interesting especially the black museum. Unfortunately as a new member I am unable to see most of the posted photos until I have ten posts, so I guess I'll have to think of something interesting to post.
