Ming, ming - must be the batphone, `cos its "minging" ]
End to end readingsr1=0.18 ohms
rn=0.18 ohms
r2=0.52 ohms
And you`re ok with those then?
I`d be thinking the cpc had a poor joint, TBH!
IR readings 500v
Live-live= 0.36 meg ohms
Live-E=0.25 meg ohms
I assume you refer to L-N? there aren`t many domestics (yet) with polyphase loads, and even less with a polyphase ring circuit.
What was N-E?
You DO know that "something plugged in", if it contains electronics, may be dead as a dead thing now, `cos you fried it?
Circuit covers the whole ground floor including kitchen. Did check to see if everything was disconnected and did not see any neons.
They were all in the aquarium.
I`d hazard one of two possibilities:
1. Fault in the ring, including the presence of dampness somewhere.......
2. Other (more testing required)
Another thing I noticed was that when I did the continuity reading on the double sockets. plug the megger into a socket outlet I get a good reading but when I plug the megger into the second outlet on the same socket I get a higher reading or the reading starts high and then slowly gets lower. Any ideas why???
They sockets look like they were replaced about 8-10 years a go and only have one earth point.
See batty`s reply mate:
