the last guy I worked for (while ago now) installed a socket in the middle of a farm shed, which was hanging in mid air and suspended from the roof.

The trouble is I can't remember how it was fixed or what sort of cable was used.

Has anyone seen anything similar?

I don't know why but it's getting to me; not being able to rememberheadbang

was it just a normal extension lead tied up from the rafters with a bail string? :^O

I've installed some hanging sockets in a comms room.

Metal clad switch fused spur on conduit fixed to ceiling

Conduit male hook fitted to sfs, jack chain on hook, flex looped out of sfs & cable tied to jack chain.

Flex's terminating to 1 way trailing sockets

Used to power 3com hubs/switches & ups's in centre of the room.

A factory I used to work in had drop sockets installed I recall no chains being used and just hung with SWA cable .....................

I will wait for the firing squad ..........................

they have suspended caddy reels in fire stations that are suspended from the ceiling to plug the appliances into, that sort of thing?

depends on how high and what your connecting.... if its only a mtr or 2 with a 16A socket, it probably just have the flex hanging. anything larger though and have some kind of support chain or similar with cable & sockets attached to that
