I find those ok for conduit systems, and prefer the super rods for under floor access-

I have had a set of those rod (or very similar) for nearly 3 years now.

I would be lost without them!

but there are the odd 1% or 2% of situations where you need alternative methods!

On a serious note.

With false ceilings I find trunking the best way. I don't like the plastic or metal coils in conduit but haven't found a good alternative yet.

Rods are handy but tend to snap at inconvenient times! X(

I used to have a pet mouse, never could train it to pull a bit of string under the floor!

Seriously though, I've always used stiff galv. wire to do my fishing. I suppose it could touch something live, but never has happened yet.

You have to be careful not to catch up on an existing cable, and pull it, thinking its the one you are trying to catch.

i use those actual ones price a bit steep tho considering u only get 4 in a pack but good bit of kit nevertheless , find the tip comes off some rods so i only use a tipless rod now as the first pathfinder saves the other ends innit :|

Norv: agreed m8. "must have" piece of kit.

Mike: I got the "super 6" kit - 1x6mm, 3x5mm, 2x4mm and a few bits+bobs. Never had my end come of (fnarr fnarr) but there`s always a first time!
