Hello,

I was wondering could somebody explain how the neutrals work in the circuits e.g lighting, sockets, what if there is no lights in any of the Pendants how can the current return along the neutral if there is no bulbs connected? does it not return or what .

Thanks.

Kevin McBeath.

It won't return, as it can't, and the lamps won't work. To put it simply it needs to go up the live and back down the neutral for anything to work (safely, i.e. not using the earth as neutral).

so the only way for it to return is if there something connected

i,e Bulb, or some form off appliance? is this correct?

Correct Kevin

I am a bit confused, Your details show you as an NICEIC enrolled contractor?

So ye if there is nothing connected on a circuit there will be no return on the neutral is that correct?

So until the bulb or heater is plugged into a socket there will be a return on the neutral?
