so HTF did they let him open an account?

saying that, Ive had Eddies on my case for a month or so now about opening one,

my answer, give me competitive prices, thats why I dont buy from you.

I suppose even they are taking what business they can in this climate.

I actually prefer my little independent for most stuff,

a little dearer on some kit, but far more workable on special order kit, and will go out of their way to try sort gear out for me, and even try work on their prices if something is a bit rich.

screwfix etc are great in their place, but if its somethings not in the catalogue, well.........

oh, and on that note, screwfix dont even sell ISCOs/100A connecttors/LUCYs, whatever you want to call them.

I have an account at eddies and they really are a rip off, I only realised that when they were out of stock on a certain item, so I went to the independent wholesaler near me and it shocked me when I asked a few prices as to how cheap he was compared to eddies. No wonder the manager at the eddies store is always talking about how they achieved record sales figures, it don't surprise me with there prices.

What makes me laugh is when eddies say we are giving you 80 per cent discount because your an account customer, and even with their so called discount they are still ripping you off. What a joke.

By the way if your reading this admin, I think the times are wrong, because I posted this at 1:30 but it's saying I posted at 12:30. Maybe it's something to do with the hour going forward. Just thought I'd let you know anyway.

....there was a guy who had just opened a trade account.NO tools, NO meters and NO clue (from what I can tell)

Just anoter numptie I now have to contend with headbang
I live 25 miles from the nearest wholesaler. Quite a long round trip just to get some parts.

Most Saturdays, we go into town to go swiming. So anything I need for next week I collect then.

We will be travelling in my Wife's car, no tools to be seen anywhere, and I'm usually dressed in reasonable clothes, rather than my scruffy work clothes.

So if you met me then in a wholesaler on a Saturday morning, you would be calling me a numptie with no clue as well then wouldn't you?

Not really, especially if you had you captains hat on;)

This guy actually said that he hadn't got any tools or meters and that he'd have to buy some but that he would see what he needs as he goes along. Now specialist tools I can understand, but this guy was on about standard hand tools.

personally i think that most wholesalers can rip trades of wether the bills are paid on time or not!

id rather see the price like online so i know what im paying immediately. but with some account wholesalers the prices are made up as they go along.
