I thought I'd see if I could join Electricfix as I use Screwfix anyway for general DIY bits. They wanted to know what qualifications I had and when I'd taken them. All seemed fair enough, I met their criteria with recent 2330, 17th and EAL Part P so I joined. The girl asked at what college I'd taken the stuff etc. The discounts on sparking stuff is OK, yes you can get the stuff cheaper if you shop around but it's another catalogue to read on the loo! I was half impressed that they were interested in qualifications. One "bonus" is that if I need general Screwfix stuff I can go to the Electricfix counter which is generally much quieter, no queues etc.
Was in there the other day and I asked out of interest "What qualifications does a person need to join Plumbfix?". Expecting the guy to say "C&G in Plumbology, Gas Safe etc" he just said "Once you're registered for Electricfix you're automatically registered for Plumbfix...weird...I'm now a plumber then!
