Probably an air handler but tbh i know nothing about this so am not going to get involved. Ive just somehow got to find something to extract the smell but cant vent it out as theres no outside wall nearby just a void above the ceiling about 1m high and the air handling system. Any ideas anyone please. Thanks

There wasent no air connections on it rev. I think it was controlling the air handling system as above the ceiling were some cables going into it. Think it may have had two lights on it not LEDs tho. Think this may be quite old.

Thanks manator I've never done this before. Where do I get the charcoal filters from. Thanks

Thanks everyone for the replies. There is metal ducting above the drop ceiling in a void above. They want better extraction of smellys so was looking for a decent extractor fan but the problem is where to extract to. I dont think it will be possible to vent into the metal ducting as it may cause problems for the air management system ? its not possible to connect into this is it?Thanks
Unlikely you can connect to it. Probably break whatever is already there and your fan could have issues pushing and burn out prematurely.

Can't you get kitchen fans that recycle the air through a filter of nowhere to void to?

Matty I can not find them just now but they are in line charcoal filters, the last ones I used were 12" and slotted into a groove which was square, when I get to the office in the morning I will have a look for you.

so that unit doesnt actually vent anywhere?

are you sure its not one of them automatic air freshener things?

you really need to get a fan that vents outside,

no other way around it.

The unit in the picture only has electrical connections. The system must vent somewhere but the building is massive and the system wasent sucking at all. Defo not air freshner things as they were on other wall in there. Cheers

just install carbon filtered cooker hoods above every toilet with a notice on the back of the bog door saying "Please turn on cooker hood if your doing a biggun!"

pmsl

Don't they just deal with the moisture in the air not the bad smell?

but what does this unit connect to then?can you give us some more info?
I didnt get a chance to check but when i go back ill find out and post it up on here.

Im hoping Manator comes up trumps as it looks like my only hope. Ive searched the net but cant seem to get anywhere.

Cheers

Spanner in the works here, but what about fitting an ozone generator?

Ozone Generators Direct - Home

"They wipe out unwanted odours and render the air clean and fresh before reverting back to oxygen. Ozone is created naturally during a thunderstorm, but it cannot be stored - for deoderising and anti-bacterial applications it must be generated on site."

Fitted one in toilet once that could not be vented. I don't know who made it or where it was sourced from, as supplied by client. We just wired it to a 3amp spur and turned it on. Once the LED changed from Red to green it was working. To be honest i don't know how well it worked but we've never heard from it since.

Physical size, something like 350x250x75mm, white metal ceiling mounted box
