Industrial PIR EICR, fault on disused circuit. Disconnect or code it?

Unusual one.

PIR on an industrial unit that the client is giving up. PIR is required for the landlord on handover of the building back to them.

I only found one significant fault. That was on a 110V circuit (big transformer to feed it) that used to feed a load of "pull down from the ceiling" 110V sockets.

The tenant has removed all of those (it was them that fitted them for their use of the building) and in doing so, they created a dead short from L to E. I suspect someone mistook the Yellow phase conductor as a green / yellow and stuck it in an earth terminal somewhere.

All I have done at the moment is disconnect this circuit in the transformer. That circuit can't be used again in any case unless someone re instates the pull down sockets, in which case they would be responsible for testing and re connecting that circuit.

So. Do I just not mention it as it's a "no longer used" circuit, or do I code it? I'm sure the tenant would prefer I just don't mention it.

All the other wall mounted 110V sockets are still there and working from a separate transformer.

I would normally have just had a look and fixed the fault, but all the junctions are high up on steel beams and would need a scaffold tower to get to them.

 
If its unused anyway, and your client is giving up the building, I see no need to put it down.

Besides which, if you`ve disconnected at the transformer, that now means that some old wiring, which isn`t connected to the installation, has issues. Not a problem, as far as the PIR goes mate. I`d ignore it now - you`ve covered the bases by disconnecting the TX.

Just to clarify, I didn't disconnect the transformer. That is still energised if you turn on it's MCB, I disconnected the faulty 110V output circuit from the transformer.

My thinking being if the next tenant wants to use the 110V facility, he just has to connect a new circuit to the transformer (or correct the fault and re use the old circuit)
