Hi my Renault Trafic 115 DCI had been parked up for 6 month I took it for a run and noticed engine management light came on put a code reader on and it said number 2 injector faulty tested all injectors around 1 and 2 to be faulty I have remove these injectors and I am just ordering two new ones as apparently the old ones are not repairable could anyone tell me do the new injectors have to be coded to the engine thanks Dave

Not as far as I'm aware, the modern engine has so many sensors on it that it just 'knows' which injector is faulty, many years ago when it was single point injection, the diesel went in and that was it, now most are multi point and the management system 'knows' just how much fuel is being delivered to each cylinder. Just make sure that you clear the fault codes after changing the injector/s and before you run the van, otherwise next time you read the codes it will still be there, also beware of 'cascade faults', these can be a real pita to deal with.

you dont code the injector but there may be an adjustment to the injector nozzle itself, some require that the injector is set. As Phil said clear codes first before running.

Out of interest, was the van running correctly prior to being parked up? its not uncommon for fuel to go gummy if left standing for a long period of time, it may of just needed a good clean through?
