Hi i was wondering if anyone can tell me if i can replace my existing wired smoke detectors with interconnected detectors

My living room main Smoke detector wiring from ceiling has 5 wires joined by a connector strip

2 Red wires joined into one slot,  1 Yellow wire in middle slot and  1 Black and 1 Blue joined together into the third slot.

My upstairs landing has only 3 wires coming from the ceiling

1 Red , 1 Yellow and 1 Blue  wired into 3 slots on the connector strip

Im assuming wiring from ceiling on both are coming from the light fittings

Any advice would be appreciated

             Regards   John

No one can tell for certain just from wire colours, BUT if the red/yellow/blue downstairs are the other end of the same cable as the red/yellow /blue upstairs that is consistent with you already having interconnected detectors.
