hi,

honestly I can not believe your still using Intenet explorer.

You all really need to move to Firefox.

Your are wrong Killerwatt Firefox is safer than IE read the reports.

More importantly though it is so much easier and functional to use than IE.

The addons give you real tools to use.

Whilst I also agree with extension15 regarding virus checkers, users must realise that virus checkers do not protect against direct download and attacks introducing malware which was the latest "major trouble" you talk about on this thread.

I would recommend without any reservations applications such as VIPRE.

http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/

This combines antivirus, antispyware, anti-rootkit, anti-malware and other security technologies into a seamless, tightly-integrated security solution.

VIPRE delivers comprehensive protection against today's highly complex spyware, viruses, and blended malware threats for superior PC and email security. Step up from that old AV and upgrade to a real next-generation VIPRE.

My whole world and income revolves around software and has been for 25+ years.

I know people have there view and personal likes/dislikes but honestly move to firefox and your troubles will be halved.

I could not agree more, home pc is Firefox, my work one is NOD32.

Never had a single incident with either.

I did read the reports Steve.

While MS had to release a patch to cover up just the one flaw that had been discovered, Mozilla had to release 8 this month to cover up the holes in their offering that would allow an attacker to compromise the target system and take control.

Sadly there is no such thing as a Safe Browser.

But a Firewall and a Anti-Virus program (updated daily and PC scanned), does help to keep the Don's boys away.

The Godfather

I've just had horrendous problems with IE7 - locking up, not reponding, slow etc. I finally lost patience on Saturday & downloaded Mozilla Firefox & this has solved all my issues including faster browsing & page downloads.

Me too, exbdc. That, combined with my BT internet disconnecting at regular periods - is driving me nuts.

I have had firefox for some time now though.
