I am not your normal poster
I'm colour blind and have no electrical background. I only purchased an electrical company because my son had qualified later in life but had no experience. He started training just before the economic troubles and qualified with no or very little experience. The local Mr Electric franchisee carried out work for me in my previous company. He wanted to sell so I thought it would be a good idea. I am still a franchisee with Mr Electric despite the national Franchisor going under a year ago costing me in the region of 30k.
Recently I had an offer from work from a company typed their name into Google and it led me to the posts on here. Thanks to those posters I called the company back and said no thanks not interested. Luckily for me someone in the office had taken the instruction and job details, even booked in the job. (Admin training has been updated since). We called the place where the job was to be carried out and informed them we would not be attending, as we do not trust the company passing the work. As the outcome was good for me you can guess the rest. My manager is also on here and finds it invaluable for both technical and supplier advice.
I am of no help technically having said that I employ 9 fully qualified electricians so can get an answer to most things. If you want advice on things like joining Growth Accelerator, business planning, whether to hold weekly meetings etc I am happy to give my views. First bit of advice. Look up Growth Accelerator on the internet and join money well spent. We all run businesses but how many have had any coaching or training. You would not think of being a spark without training, so why not apply the same thinking to running a business.
Now to go and see where my fishpond is leaking.
