Intruder alarm - Panic button

So it's 2 to PA and 2 to TAMPER then?

At the panic alarm (pictures attached) - Am I right in saying the 2 wires that go to the PA at the control panel attach to the silver screws at each end of the electrode? And so do the 2 wires that go to the TAMPER at the control panel attach to the gold screws?

At the risk of sounding arsey, is this a general 'learning about alarms' thing or are you practicing on someone elses alarm?

Why do people assume if it's only got 12V in it then it doesn;t matter if you don;t have the first idea about what you're doing? I can;t see everyone being so helpful if the item to be fitted was something related to electrical accessories.

I've installed intruder alarms before but I haven't installed a panic button at any point so I just wanted some advice on exactly how it's done.

If there is no lid switch or rear tamper then the tamper loop cables go to the same brass screw.

The circuit cables go to the silver screws.

I use Veritas alarms, and when installing panic buttons i just wire 2 cores into the global tamper circuit, and the switch cores wired to one of the zones

You can then program the appropriate zone to be a panic button circuit - ie will work even when the alarm is not set
