Is there a reg about terminating supply into isolator?

I have needed to replace an 100A 4P isolator on a DB. The supply cable is a bit short but long enough to get into the top of the isolator.

Can I have a choice to terminate in the top or is there a requirment for me to terminate in the bottom then take the load out the top?

The same question applies but if I have a fused isolator, do I have to take the supply from the bottom? (The fuses are at the top and the isolator is at the bottom)

doesnt really make any difference if the feed goes in the top or the bottom - i.e a wylex SP board had the feed at the top, the load at the bottom. similar isolator (3 or 4 pole instead of 2 pole) is used in a TP board, with feed a bottom and load at top

a switch fuse should be wired so the fuse is dead when switched off. so you dont have a chose on what terminals to use
