Replaced 20 of the older type downlights yesterday , chucked them in the van .

This morning , tied them all in bundle and , as we do round here, deposited them on the grass verge outside my house for the many Tatters/ Totters/ Steptoes that cruise the streets.

Walked into the house , up stairs to office, looked out the window,  fittings gone !!!!!

Last Sunday there were 8 different Tatters passed up the road ..all with different calls and taped announcements plus the one with what we always called ..." The Ragman's Trumpet" !!

Where I used to live, it was a fact that if you had a skip in for some building work, that you filled the skip during the day, and half the stuff had gone from the skip by the morning.

I was doing a kitchen refurb way out in the country, half dozen houses either side of the track/road, miles from anywhere, i helped kitchen fitter lift the work tops with sink & hob in, old washer & oven & dumped them at the end of the drive for when the skip arrived, skip turns up 15 minutes later and we find somebody has stripped the hob & sink & removed the oven and washer! Makes you wonder where they come from, since then I've noticed where a skip gets dropped scrappies won't be far behind so always lock yer van up!

I had some tatter take my stinky old work boots out of a skip once. The sole was even coming off on the one foot!

However, i must admit i have had somebodys old kitchen worktop and base units for my shed out of a skip!

They are terrible for it round where we are,  especially the travellers of the non traditional gypsy sort (p*keys)  they even have the cheek to come knocking on ur door round here asking can they take stuff out ya back garden which comfuses me alot of the time as to how they can see what is in there seeing as we have a 6ft tall fencing..  i normally tell them to go away in the politest way possible!

Streety cant help himself if he sees a skip he has to have a mooch in it (obv with the owners permission where possible)

It amused me greatly when we used to throw away Copperclad. Back in the day it only went to the tip.....no scrap vaue at all, greater weight in plastic than conductor.

Chuck it on tip, out come the skip rats, ploughing through many curry containers, dead dogs, dog eggs etc etc etc only to find......WORTHLESS TAT....dead funny to watch

Just.....waiting for Elex tomorrow

For those with a vinyl collection (the sad ones like my mate who i drink with) who want to preserve it in case the house catches fire or the kids trash them :slap
is that better than flac then?

TBH, I dont think many players/speaker combos etc etc, make any difference......
