Afternoon.

We have been asked to install an additional CCTV camera at a clients property. They want to be able to view vehicles arriving at the top of their drive. They would also like to be able to view number plates in light & dark, We can mount the camera approx 15m from where the vehicle turns into the car park. Not sure what type of camera would be best. Any recommendations?

Would this do the trick?

Cheers for the response.

I've used the ND cameras before, and without any IR, all we had was a black screen at night! (Not much artificial light) so we replaced them with IR cams.

Well, from gs post they dont wory in almost complete darkness

The thing is you cant get one camera to do various jobs. I think in your case you should get a vari focal lens camara so you can play with it on site with the client so they decide what spread they see. If you go wide angle things are smaller but if you get close ups of number plates not much else is on the screen.

700 tvl is the best you will get. I have recently been trying cheaper cams off ebay, they all claim Sony chips and all seem as good as each other.

Other than that look for the IR range to suit your needs. The nite devils do need some light in all the viewing area to work

I want to try one of these new style cams, you can for me

that ebay special looks good. might have to order one to play with, i usually go for domes in domestic/commercial situations and only use bodied camera for heavy duty stuff like carparks etc, bullet cams seem to look a bit toytown??
