Hi all just a quick question if anyone can help. I'm doing a board change for a elecsa assessment I've had an isolator fitted by the supply company to isolate the supply my question is that the CU main switch is also an isolator so because there is 2 isolation points one at the CU and one that the supply company has fitted do I need a label to say that there is more than one isolation switch.

Thanks

IMHO.. NO.

As.. in the event of an emergency either switch will isolate the supply from all of the final circuits, so there is no possibility of error thinking the whole installation is dead when it is not.

Whereas labeling or highlighting the location of two isolations points would become an issue if two different switches isolated a different group of final circuits. e.g. separate distribution boards.

OR maybe if you have long tails and the CU is remote from the suppliers cut-out

Hi there is 2 boards 1 for the loft conversion and 1 for the rest of the house. The tails from the isolator go into a Henley block and from there tails to each board

I stand correted...

But they are all mounted next to each other yes?

so it is clear what switches what..

If you are concerned you could just make a label worded

"Main Switch" (just like wot you have on a bog standard CU label.)

and stick it on the isolator.

;)
