Its An Age Thing !

I have a couple of jobs running at the moment , one is an old cottage refurb near Lichfield , So onsite is the builder himself , middle aged phart,  his chippy , old phart , the  Brickie/plasterer fairly old phart,  me and my oppo , both old pharts and two youngsters , labouring /general factotums  about 17 yr olds .  

So come "kipper tie" time  ( thats Brummie for "cuppa tea"  BTW)   all the Pharts are chatting away  and the two kids sit in silence....texting . Like they havn't  checked their phones every 10 mins throughout the day anyway !!!

When I was an employer my employees were only allowed personal mobiles if they passed the "does it float in a bucket of water and can you drop it from 10 m test". If not then they were not to use it when on my clock!...just saying!

I saw a film about that once.............. Well actually i walked out the room after a couple of min when i realised what it was about

Its just life, kids nowadays. your foreman probably thought the same about yourselves, galavanting around sending faxes and pages to each other.

How well I remember getting a bollocking from my dads foreman for sending a semaphore message in works time...I was flagging towards the end of it!........just saying

Similar too us TBH   We used to send notes between apprentices by carrier pigeon .....Forman used to go mad .   Then technology kicked in and we  stretched a piece of string tightly between two tin cans.

How about someone pulled out a newspaper on their and read that? No different really, except the news i read on my phone is free.  

that said if I get another apprentice their phone will be staying in the van when not on a break!
