What now you may think.

Just returned from my usual 2 hour stint of tea and TV watching after 9.00 .

Not much I like on TV these days TBH but ..just watched a film    Must have been a BBC channel, no ads,  ..no violence , no war, no guns , no fast car chases ..even people over 35 in it

The enchanting  Story of Beatrix Potter , exquisitly filmed and acted with Rene Zelwegger  doing her excellent British accent as Miss Potter .    Period drama with the Lake District as a backdrop .   Hollywood are not in the same league .

Our 3 kids bought us a weekend in the Lakes at one of Beatrix Potters old homes....Lindeth Howe, last year!

Middle child (29!). Has been looking at buying a house

When she was little she adored Hunca Munca ( Beatrix Potter character)

So,we nick named her Hunca Munca

Looked at a house in the Village, opened cupboard understairs...in it was a big picture of HUNCA MUNCA

SHE BOUGHT THE HOUSE LAST WEDNESDAY!

Builders started work and I rescued the picture...she thinks it got skipped!

I am going to get it framed for when she moves in

House is going to be called" Hunca House"

Just saying that I am getting quite sad in my old age

Well, yeah. :D But if I ever post anything after midnight it's because I've just come home from standby so my brain is high on caffeine/completely dead so nothing makes much sense. Anyway, does the story of Beatrix Potter feature fit men in suits? :D If not, Peaky Blinders wins!

Its like the house is saying .."Buy me"

Oh well thats two old sadoes now . :)

Kerch ..do you live near the Lake District then ?

No "fit men in suits"  that I noticed,  Miss SS , strangely there was a duck in a dress , a frog in a suit  and other sundry animals dressed up to the nines  :innocent

As a child in B,ham ....."The Peaky Bliders will get you"   ...was the official child scarer  :yawn

Men in suits - that's me out then. Weddings and funerals only. Now Miss S never trust a man with a bunch of flowers and a nice suit, they are only after one thing, no that I'm saying making an effort shouldn't be par for the course, buttt at the risk of sounding like your dad shallow men use shallow tricks.

Excuse me whilst i sit down, i've come over all fatherly like. :Blushing

As for Potter - chopping up rabbits to go in a pie, It's a snuff movie :slap

me an me mates used to have hair like that seen on Peaky Blinders .........short back n sides with hair on top

Spot on,  can't wait for the next series.

Not watched the "Blinders" TBH  .  Read a review saying there were some dodgey local accents in there .

If you're going to adopt the third worst accent in Britain , then at least do it properly .

Birmingham,  Dudley,  Wolverhampton etc  all have slightly different accents but southerners think they should all sound the same.

You're right there Nicola .  Much like Tyneside ...Wearside  .. sounds the same if you're not local.

You can usually spot a  Brummie  as they travel on the Buzz  and they keep spinning round  , as in , " He turned round & said to me that his missus had turned round & said to him that you'd turned round & said to her that I'd turned round & said  " Izee gooin' down the Villa termorra ?"

I can only hear three Welsh accents ,  a general North Walian one ...a definite Rhonnda area one ...and a general South Walian one .  I'm sure the Taffs can hear a lot more .

You can almost tell  what Midlands soccer team ( if any) someone supports by the accent.

yea. the geordies just sounds weird. im glad im not one of them
Yeah  but to us you sound like a "way..eye,,Pet "  jobbie  Andy .
