I've looked into it, but it's quite convoluted to take Visa payments.

IIRC the app sends a text to your customers phone with a link that they have to follow into a browser to authorise the payment.

so no different to the banks own app then?

I was thinking more for the customers who find internet and stuff like that too much for them,.

not everyone has a smartphone anyway

have had more of a look now,

seems that you use it like remote buying on the phone, simply enter the customers details into the app and voila,

bit of a steep charge though, maybe, 2.75% , but nothing that cant be built into the price, and no hassle with cheques/waiting/clearing/getting to the bank ,

Im starting to like this actually,

For Visa, the following limits apply:For private accounts, the total daily limit is £500. The maximum for a single transaction is £150.

For business accounts, the totaly daily limit is £2000. The maximum for a single transaction is £500.
still has its uses perhaps. ?

It seems to work on some Android phones though Steps as it has an Android link on the site.
as usual I have some form of bastardised device that does nothing I need it to do! :(

sony X10i , computer says NO !

I was just thinking along the lines of for a £20 investment the customer has another avenue of payment available and no trips to the bank/waiting for cheques etc for those smaller jobs.

still, now the iPhone 5 is out I may be able to pick up an older one reasonably.

Have looked at few options lately in brief, In short the easy options like the Izettle and paypal charge far too much for credit cards - cheap enough on debit cards. You can get an 'on-line terminal' which is far cheaper, and can be accessed by any smart phone, but at the moment I haven't signed up to anything yet - i like to check out lots of options before committing to anything.
