Hi folks,

Would appreciate yr assistance on this one:-

Just at the final 2nd fix stage of two new builds. Customer has decided to install jacuzzi's in both bathrooms to which we need to connect-up.

Fortunately we have a double skt outlet on the landing wall which is on the upper ring, which in-turn is protected via a 30ma RCD

We have no issue with installing a switched FCU on the landing adjacent to the double skt, and running the T&E from the FCU thru the wall into the bathroom.

I realise the 3mtr rule, but we have no such luxury here.

Would appreciate yr assitance on how best to terminate/connect the jacuzzi.

Rgds,

JimG.

your plan of fused spur adjcent to socket on landing sounds good to me

i've done similar plenty of times, running load is only a few amps at most

i'd run a flex under bath and terminate it in a gwizz style ip rated box with stuffing glands

Agreed:)

Or if you want you could put FCU in bathroom as long as its 0.6m from edge of bath & any shower enclosure. ;)

3m rule is for socket outlets not FCU's:|

you do need to consider accessibility, logical arrangement and practicality's of what it looks like..

often with bathroom will have nice tiled wall

and don't want ugly FCU in middle of tiles,

whereas on landing next to Socket outlet can often blend in better! ;)

thats how I wired a job before Christmas,

Bathroom feasible

but landing more practical! :)

Thx for the replies folks - much appreciated.

I absolutely concur and will fit today.

JimG.
