I'm just about to buy a Megger Mft 1730 Tester Onsite Software Edition.

It's a case of having to now as i've just been laid off and prob redundant next week

so it's no tester as i used works one and now no van so i've got to get another van aswell.

Any pit falls with tester apart from personal preference.

it's a used on for a very good price,

Just looking at vans at the moment,

I did have a  peugeot expert at work.

Same boat as you mate i would need somethink a bit bigger

I had enough trouble with the expert with regards to trying to fit every think in it.

I have the 1730 on site kit.

The 1730 is fantastic and with the latest software updates it is better then when first released. It is loads better then the old 1500 series which is what I think the megger haters base there judgment on. 1730 is best due to rod test etc.

The software I am not so fond of. I bought a new mac book pro retina display lap top, and parallels and windows to run software within OSX. I could not get the megger software to even load, had issues with some windows rubbish and the free support was only 30 days and support for the year was similar to easy certs price. So I just bought easy cert with forum discount and it has been faultless. I got the I device package so I can do it on my iPhone also.

If i was buying again I would pass on the megger software and just get easy cert.

easy cert software is better and has mobile version for phone use that links to main version as necessary. Nothing wrong with the tester though - I bought one for the lad.
