Does this do anything more than a socket would do with a bit of cable joining L & N with a bare bit in the middle to put croc clip onto (to IR test L&N to E) ?

Was thinking of getting one but ive got a single socket with the joining cable at the back and if this does the same as this tester I wont bother wasting

AFAICT it just links L and N so not really required unless you have a spare
