I'm not entirely sure I have the right forum but I need some advice. We recently had our ceiling done and two pendant lights put up in our kitchen but it would appear they are wired in series so the lights only work when both light bulbs are in use and they are extremely dim. Without taking down the ceiling is there any hope of having a bright kitchen? At the moment we have a bright led light in one of the lights that shines brightly but the other light no longer works.

Any advice would be appreciated

Why not just get back whoever did it, to put it right, at their own cost of course.

Because the op got the 'important' work (ceiling) done by professionals.  The lights (which any old sod can do) they done themselves.  I mean, how hard can it be?

This is exactly right. A plasterer did the ceiling and then a family friend fixed the light pendants. Previously one was connected on its own and shone brightly but since they connected it it has been like it is. I'd rather not make a hassle with them. Probably need someone to look at if its not something I can do myself

What qualifies as the second light? They are just to me light bulbs hanging on the ceiling (supposed to be vintage effect squirrel age light bulb)

TURN OFF YOUR ELECTRIC

Take the covers off the ceiling part, tell us what wires and what colours they are at each light,

A picture would be even better,
