The reading would be the resistance of the R1 line conductor through the switch.

Assuming the switch is operated on & off it would confirm that the "Live" conductor IS switched.

It would not fully confirm polarity as the 'N' & 'E' could be reversed, and this test reading, using a wander lead, would not identify it.
